A Love to Let Go
Written By: Kendall Rae
Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it’s cracked up to be. That’s why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, and risking everything for. The trouble is, if you don’t risk anything, you really end up risking even more.
Which is why letting go, even if it hurts, doesn’t mean you have to let go of everything, why risk that? You just have to let go of the person and your feelings for them. That doesn’t mean the memories will ever go away. Every time you remember those memories, it will engrave a smile onto your heart.
You know what? Be glad that once in your life that person made you happy and put color into your life even if it was just for a while and even if you got in trouble for it.. Because that kind of person doesn’t come around often. Sure, there may be someone better for you out there, but for a moment in time, that person took you to another world in which you’ve never seen before.
If I had never met her, I wouldn’t like her. If I didn’t like her, I wouldn’t love her. If I didn’t love her, I wouldn’t miss her, If I didn’t meet her, like her, love her, or miss her, there’d be no memory of one of the greatest, emotional experience of my life with her. But I did, I do, and I will; and that’ll never change. It’s that experience that keeps the happiness alive and lets the memory live on.
